Rising Dance Artist Aston Celebrates Debut EP Release with Skyelyfe & ‘Spooky’ Halloween-Themed Cocktails

Not only is it Halloween (she’s dressing up as the female version of Michael Jackson in the “Thriller” music video, BTW), but she also just released her debut, self-titled EP, and it is everything you need to turn your costume party up a few notches.

Rising dance artist and LGBT activist Aston has a lot to celebrate—and she’s sharing much of her joy with skyelyfe!

Not only is it Halloween (she’s dressing up as the female version of Michael Jackson in the “Thriller” music video, BTW), but she also just released her debut, self-titled EP, and it is everything you need to turn your costume party up a few notches.

As you listen to her six-track collection (scroll to the bottom to check it out), you can mix up her own specialty cocktail, appropriately named Aston’s Dark and Dreary Halloween Cocktail (recipe also at the bottom).

“This Halloween cocktail is super easy to make and it’s delicious!” she tells skyelyfe. “The floating rum at the top gives it a spooky effect, and you can add the Halloween garnish of your choice to make it your own (gummy worms work great with this cocktail, too!).”

When it comes to Halloween, it’s no surprise this is one of her favorite times of year.

“I absolutely love dressing up, whether it’s for a performance or going out, and Halloween is the perfect excuse to get super creative with your costume,” she says. “The great thing about a Halloween costume is that you can plan for weeks and put together something super extravagant costume Heidi Klum style, or you can throw something together last minute with things you probably already have in your closet! And candy—who doesn’t love candy?!”

Aston’s Dark & Dreary Halloween Cocktail

INGREDIENTS:

– ½ ginger beer
– 2 teaspoons of lime juice
– 1 – 2 shots of dark rum
– Halloween Candy for garnish (I used bubblegum eyeballs!)
– Wooden Skewer (for garnish)

DIRECTIONS:

Fill a glass with ice and pour in the ginger beer and lime juice. Slowly pour the rum into the glass to give it the “floating effect.” Garnish with bubble gum eyeball or your choice of Halloween candy!
