Walk the Moon, Lane 8, Submotion Orchestra & More: New Music Monday, 12.1.14

On a typical kickoff to any new month, Bone Thugs is on the brain (for obvious reasons), but I do realize the point of this post is to bring you new music, so I shall save one of my favorite rap songs for later and welcome the 1st of December with some fresh tunes.

WalkTheMoonOn a typical kickoff to any new month, Bone Thugs is on the brain (for obvious reasons), but I do realize the point of this post is to bring you new music, so I shall save one of my favorite rap songs for later and welcome the 1st of December with some fresh tunes.

That said, today’s New Music Monday playlist includes everything from feel-good pop by Walk the Moon, to soft, wintery melody by Copeland.

I decided to include two songs off Walk the Moon’s new album Talking Is Hard. The 12-track compilation is a high-energy, let’s-drive-with-the-top-down-on-PCH follow-up to their self-titled debut album, which featured the hit “Anna Sun.” It is by no means a fally-sounding album, but for those who enjoy the feeling of summer year-round, listening to this will help you achieve just that!

Equally poppy and upbeat is trumpet-happy “The Trap,” by Finnish foursome Satellite Stories.

I’ve also included some calming material by Lane 8, T.O.L.D., Leland, Submotion Orchestra and Copeland. The tracks by these artists are quite the opposite of the lively tunes listed above, but are great for mellowing out on a chilly December day.

In particular, Lane 8 can do no wrong in my book. His latest lounge-y track “Without You” is contemporary deep house at its finest – just one more example of why the handsome Anjunadeep artist rocks my world.

HAPPY DECEMBER!
