5 Practical Yet Posh Water Bottles That Are Anything But Basic

why be basic when you can be the best?

My, how far we’ve come! In my day, teens were chugging water out of indestructible plastic Nalgene bottles. Granted, I did go to college in the Pacific Northwest, but still, these were as basic as they come. In fact, once I moved back to Southern California, the closest I’d see to water bottle trends was individual Arrowhead bottles (actually, scratch that–Aquafina!). The fact that people were drinking water out of anything but a fountain was a whole new world.

That said, you can imagine my shock and horror to experience a point where society is actually fighting over water bottles, hoarding stolen water bottles, and—wait for it—accessorizing water bottles with Amazon crap the way an eccentric fashion girlie would accessorize an outfit. Like, get that limited edition Birkin, but snagging a $35 stainless steel sipping accessory is not a flex. From one non-basic bitch to another, here are five Stanley Cup alternatives that’ll actually make you look cool in public.

1. VitaJuwel Crystal Water Bottle | LOVE: $98

Nothing keeps us alive quite like water—and love! Infused with the harmony, tenderness and sensuality of real, purified rose quartz, this stunning, statement-making water bottle will bring you all the good vibes. This is so serious that you can even speak to a live crystal expert before making your coveted purchase!

2. LARQ Bottle PureVis: $99

If Brita and S’well birthed a chic offspring, you’d have the Shark Tank-approved LARQ Bottle. This elevated PureVis edition is the world’s first self-cleaning water bottle and water purification system. It uses PureVis technology to eliminate approximately 99% of bio-contaminants such as E. coli from your water and bottle. Additionally, it keeps water cold for 24 hours, and hot for 12 hours. There are several shades to choose from!

3. Prakti Copper Wellness Water Bottle: $34

Yes, this was designed and distributed by a beauty brand, but no, this is not merch. In fact, the 100% pure copper sipping accessory contains no branding whatsoever. It does, however, align with the Ayurvedic brand’s practices, as copper water vessels are prominent in Indian culture. The indestructible beauty offers an on-the-go healing and hydrating routine. When water is stored in a copper vessel, small amounts of copper ions gently dissolve, which leads to naturally purified hydration. This supports healthy digestion and immunity, prevents oxidative damage, and neutralizes free radicals to support skin health. And if space is of importance when considering Stanley Cup alternatives, this bottle can hold a lot!

**For water to become fully ionized with maximum benefits, let it sit in the bottle for eight hours before drinking.

          4. Burke Decor Skittle Original Water Bottle: $40

If you want to stay hydrated in style, this is the bottle for you! While it may not hold enough water to get you through the Zuma Canyon Loop trail, it’s at least a cute, attention-grabbing accessory for strolling through Century City or Erewhon. Added bonus? It keeps contents cold for 24 hours, and hot for 12.

          5. ColorfulSwan Personalized Name Matte Stainless Steel Water Bottle: $35

The best way to not be basic is to be you—literally. Select the font, name and color of your choice, and just like that, you’ll stand out from the rest! This stainless steel design offers double layers, vacuum insulation and no condensation to keep drinks hot for 12 hours and cold for 24. And you can’t forget about the leak-proof screw top cap.
